Subscription or one-off visit? How to choose
A fixed route is cheaper per visit, a one-off is more flexible. The trade-off in three questions.
Window cleaning is a route trade: a cleaner doing ten houses in the same street spends far less time per home than on one loose address. That's why a fixed rhythm sits at the bottom of the € 15-35 range and a loose appointment at the top. That price gap isn't a teaser but simple route logic.
Question one: how fast do your windows soil? On a busy road, near the coast or among greenery, every 4 weeks is realistic; sheltered homes manage with every 8 weeks. Question two: do you want to think about it? On a fixed route the cleaner returns automatically, and with rear access you don't need to be home. Question three: do the maths. At 8-weekly you get 6 to 7 visits a year; at route rates that almost always beats the same number of loose appointments at the higher one-off rate.
When is a one-off the smarter choice? For a one-time occasion: a house going up for sale, glass covered in construction dust after a renovation, or simply meeting a window cleaner before agreeing a fixed rhythm. Starting one-off and moving onto a route later is always possible.
If you go fixed, agree the details up front: frequency, frames included or not, and how the rear is accessible. Set the quote against the price index and you'll know within a minute whether the rate is right.
